Loadnrun Enables Deployment of eClient Applications for Non-privileged Users
Loadnrun is a simple solution for non-privileged users on Windows machines to deploy OpenROAD eClient applications. Pre-requisites for using Loadnrun are:
Installing the Loadnrun Client runtime on the target machine.
The Loadnrun client requires administrative rights but is packaged as a standard Microsoft Installer Package (MSI) installer. You may use Active Directory to push this runtime onto the target machine.
Connecting to an OpenROAD Server running the Loadnrun Server component.
Access to the OpenROAD Server can be provided over HTTP or SSL through a standard URL.
After meeting these two requirements, any user can access OpenROAD eClient applications that are hosted on a Loadnrun Server through a Windows shortcut or simple command.
For complete information about installing and using Loadnrun, see the Server Reference Guide chapter, "Loadnrun."
For more information about the eClient, see How You Can Deploy a Web-based OpenROAD Application with the OpenROAD eClient Packaging Tool in the Workbench User Guide.
Loadnrun Compared to eClient
The eClient feature is stabilized in OpenROAD 6.2. The Loadnrun feature will continue to be enhanced as needed in future versions of OpenROAD.
Although the eClient is fully supported in OpenROAD 6.2, existing eClient users are encouraged to explore Loadnrun as a utility that deploys applications more easily.
For complete information about Loadnrun, see the Server Reference Guide.
