Phase 1: Prepare for the Migration
We recommend the following steps to prepare for a migration:
1. Ensure that a 5.1 test environment exists.
2. Ensure that a 5.1 development environment exists.
3. Create a 12.0 test environment or 12.0 UTF8/Unicode environment.
4. Create a 12.0 development environment or 12.0 UTF8/Unicode environment.
5. Build and test your applications under 5.1.
