With OpenROAD 2006 you can parent a CompositeField to a new host frame at runtime without affecting the routing of its events. When this action occurs, the transplanted CompositeField becomes a portlet.

The original frame continues to run as usual. User interactions (clicks, setting values, and so on) on portlet fields are delivered to the original frame rather than to the hosting frame.
