Prepare for Installation
If Ingres is currently running on your machine, you should shut it down before installing OpenROAD to avoid a reboot. Also shut down any running OpenROAD applications.
To shut down Ingres
1. Click Start, All Programs, Ingres_program_folder, Ingres Service Manager.
Ingres Service Manager opens.
2. Click Stop to shut down Ingres.
3. When Ingres is completely stopped, close the Ingres Service Manager.
4. Shut down the Ingres Visual Manager from the system tray, or end the ivm.exe process using the Windows Task Manager.
