Installation Options
OpenROAD uses an installation wizard to install OpenROAD, Enterprise Access, and Ingres components on Windows machines. You can install required and optional components on a clean machine (one containing no previous OpenROAD, Ingres, or Enterprise Access installation), or over a previous installation of OpenROAD, Ingres, or Enterprise Access.
The OpenROAD installation wizard presents the following high-level installation options:

The following components are available for installation:
Option/Component
Description
Runtime
Installs files needed to deploy and execute an existing OpenROAD application (image file) or one that has been transformed from Application By Forms (ABF).
Development
Installs files needed to develop OpenROAD applications. Requires Runtime to be selected also.
OpenROAD Server
Installs files needed to run the OpenROAD Server. Requires Runtime to be selected.
The OpenROAD Server provides a distributed application development platform. OpenROAD 4GL business objects are deployed on the OpenROAD Server, providing services to client technologies across the Internet.
Documentation
Installs the OpenROAD documentation set.
Samples
Installs OpenROAD application samples. Requires Runtime and Development to be selected.
Query Tool
Installs the Ingres Query Tool that provides the ability to perform adhoc queries.
Requires the Standalone Net Client option to be selected.
eClient
Installs files needed to package OpenROAD applications that can be downloaded and run in Microsoft Internet Explorer. Requires Development to be selected.
Net Client
Installs the Ingres 10.1 Client components. This option is not available if OpenROAD 6.2 is being installed into an existing Ingres or Enterprise Access installation.
