Documentation Updates
The following guides in the OpenROAD documentation set were updated for OpenROAD 6.0. Significant changes are highlighted below. (For a complete list of guides included with OpenROAD, see the Getting Started.)
Installation and Configuration Guide
An appendix detailing the use of the new OpenROAD Command Window was added (see OpenROAD Command Window).
Language Reference Guide
The "Language Elements" section from the Programming Guide was moved to the Language Reference Guide. This chapter was updated extensively to reflect data type, functions, and SQL statements now supported in OpenROAD 6.0. A new section, "User Class Constructors," was included for the Initialize Statement. The "System Constants and Keywords" appendix now documents settings for all system constants. The index was improved.
Migration Guide
OpenROAD 6.0 introduces this guide, which provides planning and instructions for migrating your applications from previous versions of OpenROAD.
Programming Guide
The "Language Elements" section was moved to the Language Reference Guide. The appendix "SQL Syntax Summary" was removed; all information about SQL statements is located in the Language Reference Guide and System Reference Summary.
Server Reference Guide
The original Java and .NET gatekeepers are deprecated in this version of OpenROAD, being replaced by gatekeeper2 (see Original Gatekeeper Deprecated); information about the old gatekeepers was removed.
System Reference Summary
This guide reflects the changes made to the Language Reference Guide.
Workbench User Guide
The appendix listing environment variables was updated. A new section, "Importing UTF-8 Applications and Components" was added.
