Older OpenROAD Application Images Must Be Migrated
OpenROAD images built with an earlier release are not supported when deployed with a later runtime. For example, an image built in OpenROAD 3.5, 4.0, 2000 (5.0), or 5.1 cannot be used directly with OpenROAD 6.2.
The original source code used under these previous versions of OpenROAD may be imported into OpenROAD 6.2 and rebuilt so that images can be deployed with OpenROAD 6.2.
Although an old image may work under a later version of OpenROAD with limited functionality, this is not supported or recommended. OpenROAD 6.0 and later versions check the image version and refuse to run to avoid accidental deployments.
For more information about upgrading OpenROAD, see the Migration Guide.
