Troubleshooting Strategies
Typically, your installation process completes with no problems. However, this depends on a number of factors, including proper network support, and operating system configuration. If something does go wrong during an installation, PSQL offers some tools that can help in diagnosing the problem. This chapter explores some of the troubleshooting techniques that you can use.
Note:
If the installation fails for any reason, the installation log file can be found in the Windows %Temp% directory.
Checklist for Problems
Did you see any error messages displayed during installation?
Does the Network function correctly?
Do you have the appropriate administrator-level privileges?
Is the Engine running?
Is the Client software correctly functioning?
Are there errors in the PVSW.LOG file (Windows) or in the SysLog (Linux or OS X)?
