Command Line Interface Utilities : clipaadm

clipaadm
Description
The clipaadm tool allows you to authorize PSQL via telephone in the event that it is not possible to authorize keys online, remotely, or offline. The name clipaadm stands for CLI phone authorization administration. Use the steps described here with the version of the tool for your platform:
clipaadm.exe (Windows 32-bit)
w64clipaadm.exe (Windows 64-bit)
clipaadm (Linux, macOS, Raspbian)
For Workgroup Engine authorization, you must be logged in with administrator rights before opening a command prompt.
Synopsis
You can use clipaadm either without parameters or with parameters entered in two steps.
Without Parameters
You can run clipaadm without parameters in environments that handle stdin. Executed in this way, clipaadm enters interactive mode and displays the steps to authorize the product key.
1 At a command prompt, run clipaadm.
2 When the prompt asks you to enter the product key, enter it and press Enter.
3 When the prompt returns an authorization request code, contact technical support and provide the code to a support representative, who will provide you with an authorization key for the next step.
If your vendor or OEM provided the product key, contact their support services. If Actian Corporation provided your product key, contact Actian support services. If you obtained your product key from Actian, call 1-800-287-4383 (U. S. toll-free) or 00800.1212.3434 (Europe toll-free).
4 When the prompt asks for the authorization key, enter it and press Enter.
5 When the prompt informs you that authorization is successful, you may close the prompt window.
With Parameters in Two Steps
In environments that do not support stdin, such as remote PowerShell sessions, you can perform authorization by using clipaadm with the parameters described in the following two steps:
1 At a command prompt, run clipaadm with the product key string:
clipaadm <product key>
2 When the prompt returns an authorization request code, contact technical support and provide the code to a support representative, who will provide you with an authorization key for the next step.
If Actian Corporation provided your product key, contact Actian support services. If your vendor or OEM provided the product key, contact their support services.
3 At a command prompt, run clipaadm again with the product key followed by the authorization key:
clipaadm <product key> <authorization key>
4 When the prompt informs you that authorization is successful, you may close the prompt window.
