SSH access is protected through a key-pair. Be sure to connect using the key-pair that was specified at launch time.

The login user name is “actian”. You cannot connect using the “root” or “ec2-user”. The key-pair is only valid for “actian”.

A common problem with connectivity is network ports. SSH, JDBC, ODBC, and the Actian Director database admininstrative tool all use different ports. If a connection is refused or times out, ensure your security group has the following ports open: 22, 27832, 27839 and 44223. These ports should be in the security group, allowing inbound traffic to your AMI from your client’s IP address. These same outbound ports also must be open on the client’s firewall.
