Deregister an Instance
If you want to remove an instance from participating in the DataCloud Backup Service, and delete all backups for that instance, you must deregister the instance.
You may want to deregister an instance for the following reasons:
To delete backup data for instance that may no longer exist
To re-register an agent with different settings, such as region or encryption password
To clean up backup data of instances that were registered for development purposes and so eliminate storage costs
To deregister an instance
1. On the Instance page, select the instance you want to remove.
2. Select Action, Deregister.
A prompt appears asking you to confirm the deregistration.
3. Respond to the prompts, and then click Deregister.
The instance (that is, the backup agent) is deregistered and all related backups for the instance are removed.
The agent become invalid and will be shut down on the Ingres instance.
Note:  To eliminate “invalid agent” status after deregistration, issue the following command on the Ingres instance from the bin directory that contains the agent-backup executable:
Linux: ./backup-agent register -force    Windows: backup-agent register -force
