Install OpenROAD on Windows
You install OpenROAD on Windows platforms from the downloaded installation files using the installation wizard. After installation completes, you may optionally register the OpenROAD Server.
Note:  Before starting the installation process, ensure that you have read the installation considerations in the readme, and reviewed the information in Considerations for Upgrading a Previous Installation (see page Considerations for Upgrading a Previous OpenROAD Installation) or Considerations for a New Installation (see page Considerations for a New OpenROAD Installation).
To install OpenROAD on Windows
1. Download and unzip the OpenROAD installation files from Actian.com.
2. Double-click Setup.exe.
The installation wizard starts.
3. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
When the OpenROAD installation wizard starts, it examines your system and does the following:
Lists eligible Ingres or Enterprise instances that OpenROAD 6.0 can be installed into.
Indicates whether there is an existing OpenROAD 2006 installation in the list of eligible Ingres of Enterprise Access instances.
If an instance contains OpenROAD 2006, because it is eligible for upgrade, the OpenROAD 2006 installation wizard will be launched.
If you want to upgrade the previous OpenROAD 2006 installation, select the Remove option to force the removal of the OpenROAD 2006 components. After the OpenROAD 2006 components are removed, the OpenROAD 6.0 installation wizard is launched automatically.
If you want to install OpenROAD 6.0 in addition to your existing OpenROAD 2006 installation, select an existing Ingres or Enterprise Access instance that does not contain an existing OpenROAD 2006 installation.
If no eligible Ingres instances are detected, then a standalone copy of the Ingres 10.0 client is installed using an Ingres instance ID of XU.
If an existing copy of OpenROAD 6.0 is detected, the wizard uses that Ingres or Enterprise Access instance as the target for reinstallation.
Note:  If you are installing an OpenROAD standalone Ingres Net, the installation process will take a few more minutes. Do not cancel the installation.
