Installing Actian Ingres for Linux
Actian Ingres for Linux is distributed in RPM format and non-RPM (ingbuild) format.
When using the RPM distribution, you can install Actian Ingres using either the install command or RPM package manager command.
If your system does not have RPM, use the ingbuild installation program. Follow the instructions described in
Installing Actian Ingres Using ingbuild on page 77.
Note: Installation of Actian Ingres may require root access. If you are logged in as another user, you may need the root password or be authorized to use sudo.
