Setting Environment Variables
Scope of the Environment Variables
Actian X has a set of available logical names through which you can define various file names and other values. For an alphabetical list of the basic Actian X environment variables, see the appendix “Environment Variables.”
Actian X uses the following types of operating-system dependent environment variables:
Windows:
Actian X environment variables
Linux:
Linux environment variables
Installation-wide environment variables
Actian X environment variables in Windows and Linux are active only when you are using Actian X. A small subset of these environment variables can be reset in the local environment by the user.
