Installing DataConnect Studio IDE Site Plug-in for Eclipse on Windows
Prerequisites
Eclipse:
Mars 4.5.2 for DataConnect 11.1.1
Oxygen 4.7.1 or later for DataConnect 11.2.1
Eclipse 2018-09 for DataConnect 11.4
Eclipse 2018-12 for DataConnect 11.5
Eclipse version eclipse-2019-12 for 11.6
Eclipse version eclipse-2020-12 for 12.0
com.actian.dcui.site_xxxx.zip and di-standalone-engine-64-bit-xxxx-win.exe where xxxx is a version number that must match. You can download these two files from Actian ESD.
Current DataConnect (for example, v12) license file (.slc)
Note:  DataConnect contains an embedded Adoptium OpenJDK 11.0.12+7.
Installation Overview
To install DataConnect Studio IDE as a site plug-in, you will follow these basic steps:
Note:  It is important that you run Eclipse with the environment variables that the engine requires. For information about the environment variables, see Invoking Runtime Engine Using CLI.
Install DataConnect Studio IDE Site Plug-in on Windows
Note:  Before installing the DataConnect Studio Site plug-in, make sure to Installing DataConnect Runtime Engine on Windows.
To install the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in
1. Launch eclipse.
2. From the Help menu, click Install New Software…
3. Click Add.
The Add Repository dialog box is displayed.
4. In Name, type DataConnect and click Archive.
5. Navigate to the com.actian.dcui.site_xxxx.zip file, click Open, and then click OK.
6. Select Actian check box (all the other are defaults) and click Next.
The installation details are displayed. It must display DataConnect <DataConnect_version>, where <DataConnect_version> is the version number, for example, 12.0.0-13.
7. Click Next.
8. Accept the EULA and click Finish.
9. When information about unsigned content is displayed, click OK.
10. Restart Eclipse when the prompt appears.
Post DataConnect Studio IDE Site Plug-in Installation Tasks on Windows
After installing the DataConnect Studio IDE site plug-in:
Click Help, About DataConnect and verify that the license information is displayed. If not, you will see a red error message displayed under Browse).
If the error starts with .ini, it means any of the following:
You did not close Eclipse while setting the environment variables. Close it and reopen.
You did not install the engine.
You did not set the environment variables that allow the UI to know which engine to use.
If the error indicates that the license file is invalid or missing, click Browse and specify a valid current DataConnect license.
Click the X in the right corner to close the About DataConnect dialog box.
If you do not see a DataConnect perspective icon in the top right corner (Cloud with four-dot ring), click Options, Perspective, Open Perspective, Other and click DataConnect Perspective.
If the DataConnect perspective icon is shown in the top right corner, click on it to work in the DataConnect perspective.
