Associating Instances or Sessions with Steps
After the message component instance is created, you can associate it with a Process Designer step on your canvas and configure it for use. For information on creating new message component instances, see
Adding Message Component Instances or SQL Sessions.
To associate a component instance with an aggregator, invoker, transformer, queue, or iterator step:
1. Double-click the required step on the canvas.
The Step Properties tab is displayed.
2. From the Select <component name> drop-down list, select the component instance.
3. From the
Action drop-down list, select the required actions and then specify the values for the action parameters and the action properties. For more information about the actions, parameters, and the action properties, see
Process Steps and Components.
The component instance is associated with the step.
This is automatically saved.
Note: On the canvas, you cannot associate two steps to the same component instance. If you do this, then when you change the property values, it is applied to both the component instances.
To avoid this, go to the Configuration tab and add two different component instances of the same type (for example, two different instances of a Rest API Invoker 3 component with different names) and then associate the two invoker steps on your canvas to different component instances.
To associate a SQL session with the SQL step:
1. Double-click the SQL step on the canvas.
The Properties tab is displayed.
2. From the Choose a SQL Session drop-down list, select the required SQL session.
3. Specify the SQL Statement or the SQL file.
This is automatically saved and the SQL session is associated with the SQL step.
