Validating a Map
To validate a map from the Map Designer Editor:
1. Click File > Save to save the map.
2. Click /download/attachments/24975559/Map_Validate.png?version=1&modificationDate=1487965305265&api=v2.
Note:  If /download/attachments/24975559/Map_Validate.png?version=1&modificationDate=1487965305265&api=v2 is disabled then either the target fields are not defined or the target connection has been modified.
3. Review the success or error message.
If the map is valid and validation is successful, a success message is displayed.
If the map has validation errors, an error message is displayed, and the Problems tab appears and shows a list of errors and warnings. When the map is closed, any errors or warnings that were displayed in the Problems tab are not cleared automatically. To delete them, select all the errors and warnings, right-click on them and click Delete.
The icons (known as resource markers in Eclipse) may appear in Project Explorer on the map files and project folders. Once the errors have been resolved and the map validates successfully, the resource markers are automatically cleared.
Note:  If a JSON map has a single source and target connector and the target has a single record type and no defined events, then when you run or validate the map, a default event is automatically added based on the selected connector. To view the added event, go to Mapping tab > Advanced view > All Events (in Source grid). Also, you can edit the default event using the Edit option. For more information, see Editing Event. However, this is not applicable for intermediate and multimode targets.
