director.log
Director generates this log file in one of the following locations:
The directory specified by the DIRECTOR_LOG_DIR environment variable (or, if installed inside an Ingres installation, it can be set in the Ingres symbol table)
The current directory from which Director is started, if the variable is not set
Director logs can be rotated in the same way iimgmtsvr logs are rotated, although settings are configured differently. Because the management server resides inside an Ingres, Vector, or VectorH installation, it has access to the symbol.tbl and config.dat files and the shell environment it was launched from. Director runs outside of the Ingres or Vector installation and environment, so Director log file settings can be made only in the global or local shell environment.
The logging level for Director is set to ERROR by default and can be set to the same values as for iimgmtsvr using the DIRECTOR_LOGGING_LEVEL environment variable. For more information, see Environment Variables.
Note:  On Microsoft Windows systems, the default installation location for Director is not a directory that is writable. If you want to set up logging for Director, you must set both the DIRECTOR_LOG_DIR and DIRECTOR_LOGGING_LEVEL variables.
