Working with Views
Views are virtual tables, based on queries, that provide different perspectives of data from a variety of tables. The view definition is stored in the system catalogs. When this view is used in an SQL statement, the statement operates on the underlying tables. When a table or view used in the definition of a view is deleted (dropped), the view is also dropped.
You can use Director to create, modify, and delete views.
For more information, see “Views” in the Ingres Database Administrator Guide.
