Log Files
Using Director, you can display the following database (server side) logs. Logs are located in one of the following locations:
• The II_LOG directory, if set either in the environment or the Ingres symbol table
• The II_CONFIG directory, if II_LOG is not set
• The current directory from which iimgmtsvr was started, if neither is set
The default setting for the log directory for either the management server or Director is the current directory, where the executable resides.

Archiver
The iiacp.log file contains information about the current archiver process. For more information, see the Ingres System Administrator Guide.
Config
The config.log file contains a log of the changes made with the Configuration Manager or Configuration-By-Forms (cbf) utility. For more information, see the Ingres System Administrator Guide.
Errors
The errlog.log file contains error messages, warning messages, and server startup and shutdown information. This is the first place to look when troubleshooting a problem. The file continues to grow until truncated. For more information, see the Ingres System Administrator Guide.
Management Server
The iimgmtsvr.log file contains information about the Management Server (iimgmtsvr), which Director uses to communicate with a remote installation. The contents of this log can be used for debugging; for more information, see iimgmtsvr.log.

RCP Config
The rcpconfig.log file contains log and error information about the last time rcpconfig was run. For more information about the rcpconfig command, see the Ingres Command Reference Guide and the System Administrator Guide.
Recovery
The iircp.log file contains information about the current recovery process. For more information, see the Ingres System Administrator Guide.
Startup
The ingstart.log file contains information about the last time ingstart was run. For more information about the ingstart command, see the Ingres Command Reference Guide.
Symbol
Contains a history of updates to the symbol.tbl file, including types of updates performed and some application information. The symbol.bak and symbol.log files are located in the II_CONFIG location or the II_ADMIN location (in the case of NFS Ingres instances). For more information, see the Ingres System Administrator Guide.
VDBA Errors
The errvdba.log file contains information about errors encountered while using Visual DBA or other visual tools.
Other
Displays a list of any other log files, tracepoints, or errors on your system, such as install.log, nm.log, or dm9301.log.
