Gateway Configuration Variables

How Gateway Parameters are Configured
When the gateway is installed, initial configuration information is stored in the config.dat file. Default values for most configuration parameters can be modified using CBF and, if available, VCBF.
Some configuration parameters are global, affecting all gateways; others are specific to a particular gateway. If the parameter specification contains a Server Class entry, the parameter is being defined only for that specific gateway.
Examples:
To affect all gateways:
ii.hostname.gateway.parameter: parameter_value
To affect a specific gateway:
ii.hostname.gateway.server_class.parameter: parameter_value
where server_class is replaced by the corresponding entry for the server class as shown in the following table.
Entry
Description
hostname
Defines the name of the computer where the gateway resides. Use the actual name of the machine.
An asterisk (*) denotes that the entry applies to all machines.
server_class
Specifies the gateway whose parameter is being set. The server class can take on the following values:
mssql
oracle
db2udb
*
If the * value is specified, the parameter applies to all gateways.
parameter
Specifies the gateway parameter being set. Available configuration parameters and their possible values are discussed later in this chapter.
parameter_value
Specifies the configuration parameter value.
