Alias Parameters
Alias parameters provide a detailed mapping needed when defining gateway access for a user.
The following parameters define a gateway alias:
• server class
• alias name
• host dbname
• username
• password
These parameters uniquely identify the access information needed by the gateway to connect to a database. Detailed descriptions of these parameters are given in the following tables.
Note: The gateway supports Visual DBA. Visual DBA expects to be able to connect to a particular database with the name iidbdb/server class. For more information about Visual DBA, see the Ingres Command Reference Guide.
