Installing Ingres for Linux
Note: Ingres for Linux is distributed in RPM format and non-RPM (ingbuild) format.
Note: When using the RPM distribution, you can install Ingres using:
• An installation wizard
• From the command line using either the ingres_express_install command or RPM package manager command.
If your system does not have RPM, use the ingbuild installation program. Follow the instructions described in "Installing Ingres on UNIX" in the Installation Guide.
Note: Installation of Ingres requires root access. If you are logged in as another user, you will need the root password.
