Initial Synchronization of Source and Target Database
The following section describes the initial synchronization of the Source and Target database:
1. Select the nodes, Ingres installations, and the database for synchronization.
2. Designate one node as source and one or more nodes as targets.
3. The source node must have a relatively current checkpoint and the target nodes database must have at least one checkpoint, to ensure appropriate Ingres directories and files system permissions are in place.
4. Execute the initial --ckpsync --restart command.
Note: This will sync the target database(s) with the source database and place the target database(s) in the required INCR_RFP state. This requires the target installation(s) to be shut down.
