Getting Started on Windows
Prerequisites
Microsoft Windows:
Windows 10 Enterprise or later, or Windows Server 2016 or later
Permission to “Run as Administrator” for the installer
64-bit processor, 2.90GHz
16 GB installed memory (RAM)
DataConnect Cloud or Avalanche subscription
What Will Be Installed
Actian Integration Agent (Windows Service)
DataConnect v12 Embedded Engine
AdoptJDK 11 Embedded JRE
Install Integration Agent
To install Integration Agent
1. Download Actian DataCloud Agent from https://esd.actian.com/product/Actian_Integration_Manager.
2. Right-click the downloaded installer file (integration-agent-xxx-win.exe) and select “Run as administrator.”
If you have a previous 3.x.x version installed, you will be prompted to uninstall first. Uninstalling will shut down running services and prepare for library updates; it will not remove or alter ProgramData (conf files, logs, and so on).
3. Accept the License Agreement.
4. Select the installation path (default: C:\Program Files\Actian\IntegrationAgent).
5. Select the shared data path (default: C:\ProgramData\Actian\IntegrationAgent).
Installation should take less than a minute.
6. Open one of the following in a web browser:
Local installation – Open http://localhost:6001/home
Network server installation – Open http://server_name:6001/home
7. Register the Agent using your DataConnect Cloud or Avalanche credentials.
Registration progress is shown to confirm that your Agent is operational.
You should now be able to view and manage your Agent from the cloud:
DataConnect Cloud – https://console.im.actiandatacloud.com/ui/agents
Avalanche Console – https://avalanche.avstage.actiandatacloud.com/im/agents
Private Cloud on Kubernetes – https://your_hosted_domain/im/agents
You may also open http://localhost:6001/home at any time to confirm the status of the Agent on the installed machine.
Run Your First DJAR
1. Navigate and log in to Integration Manager in your web browser
2. Navigate to the Configurations tab.
3. Click +Add.
4. Set up a new configuration:
a. Give it a unique Name.
b. Set Run Location to User Agent.
c. Click Add Package.
d. Upload a DataConnect .djar file.
e. Select an Entry Point within the DJAR.
f. Click the Macros sub-tab.
g. Add or import any macros your DJAR requires.
5. Click Run Configuration.
6. Navigate to the Jobs sub-tab to view job progress and log file.
You can monitor Job progress in real time even though it is executing on the Agent machine.
Examine Agent Activity and Logs
1. You may monitor Agent health, location, and job history from the cloud:
DataConnect Cloud – https://console.im.actiandatacloud.com/ui/agents
Avalanche Console – https://avalanche.avstage.actiandatacloud.com/im/agents
Private Cloud on Kubernetes – https://your_hosted_domain/im/agents
2. You can monitor service activity and get important additional information from the log file on the Agent machine (default: C:\ProgramData\Actian\IntegrationAgent\logs\Agent.log).
Log file data will remain after uninstallation and reinstallation.
