Overview
The orinstall.bat Batch File
Overview
Note:  This section is for Microsoft Windows only
The 64-bit OpenROAD Windows Installer is a command line script called ORINSTALL.BAT. This script is packaged with the 64-bit OpenROAD 11.1 installer and is also delivered into the 64-bit OpenROAD 11.1 instance.
The batch command script named orinstall.bat makes installation straightforward. The interface to this script is simple. When it is used to install 64-bit OpenROAD 11.1 it takes no parameters by default. When it is used to clone an existing 64-bit OpenROAD 11.1 instance, it take three parameters.
A new feature has been added that allows an existing 64-bit OpenROAD 11.1 instance to be cloned into another pre-installed 64-bit Ingres 11.1 instance. The cloned 64-bit OpenROAD 11.1 instance is a separate 64-bit OpenROAD 11.1 runtime and development environment. This new instance can access an existing 64-bit OpenROAD Server. If the ASREG utility is run in the cloned 64-bit OpenROAD instance, it will take over control of the OpenROAD Server instance.
