Name Server
The OpenROAD Name Server is a facility that enables a client program to connect to an OpenROAD Server application by name. There is one Name Server for each OpenROAD Server installation. Multiple applications can be registered with one or more Name Servers to provide connection load balancing across processes within a given machine and across processes on different installations.
The Name Server is used to manage connections to both stateless and stateful applications. For more information, see Designing and Writing OpenROAD Server Applications. For information about configuring and maintaining the Name Server, see Managing and Monitoring the OpenROAD Server.
