To install OpenROAD on Windows

2. Double-click Setup.exe.
The installation wizard starts.
3. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
When the OpenROAD installation wizard starts, it examines your system and does the following:
The 32-bit OpenROAD Installer lists the eligible 32-bit Ingres or 32-bit Enterprise instances that the 32-bit OpenROAD 6.2 can be installed into.
The 32-bit OpenROAD Installer will indicate whether there is an existing 32-bit OpenROAD 2006 installation in the list of eligible 32-bit Ingres or 32-bit Enterprise Access instances.
If an instance contains 32-bit OpenROAD 2006, because it is eligible for upgrade, the 32-bit OpenROAD 2006 installation wizard will be launched.
If you want to upgrade the previous 32-bit OpenROAD 2006 installation, select the Remove option to force the removal of the 32-bit OpenROAD 2006 components. After the 32-bit OpenROAD 2006 components are removed, the 32-bit OpenROAD 6.2 installation wizard is launched automatically.
If you want to install 32-bit OpenROAD 6.2 in addition to your existing 32-bit OpenROAD 2006 installation, select an existing 32-bit Ingres or 32-bit Enterprise Access instance that does not contain an existing 32-bit OpenROAD 2006 installation.
If no eligible Ingres instances are detected, then a standalone copy of the 32-bit Ingres 10.1 client is installed using an Ingres instance ID of XC.
If an existing copy of 32-bit OpenROAD 6.2 is detected, the wizard uses that 32-bit Ingres or 32-bit Enterprise Access instance as the target for reinstallation.
The 64-bit OpenROAD Installer will indicate whether there is an existing 64-bit OpenROAD installation in the list of eligible 64-bit Ingres or 64-bit Enterprise Access instances.
If you want to upgrade a previous 64-bit OpenROAD 6.2 installation, the 64-bit OpenROAD installer will automatically remove the previous version of the 64-bit OpenROAD 6.2 and upgrade it in place.
If you have an existing 32-bit OpenROAD instance, the 64-bit OpenROAD 6.2 installer will install a new instance.
If no eligible Ingres instances are detected, then a standalone copy of the 64-bit Ingres 10.2 client is installed using an Ingres instance ID of XE.
If an existing copy of 64-bit OpenROAD 6.2 is detected, the wizard uses that 64-bit Ingres or 64-bit Enterprise Access instance as the target for reinstallation.
Note:  If you are installing an OpenROAD standalone Ingres Net, the installation process will take a few more minutes. Do not cancel the installation.
