New Environment Requirements
To migrate from any previous release of OpenROAD to OpenROAD 6.2, you will want to maintain your original environments (development, test, and production) in working order while establishing a new OpenROAD 6.2 environment to perform the migration.
The OpenROAD 6.2 environment has the following requirements:
Install OpenROAD 6.2 on a separate machine from your previous version's environments (recommended).
Note:  It may be possible to install some components of the new 6.2 environment on the same machine. For more information, see Alternatives in Establishing a New OpenROAD Environment.
If the installer does not find an Ingres 10.1.1 or later installation to use as a target for OpenROAD 6.2, it installs OpenROAD 6.2 as a standalone version with an embedded Ingres 10 client.
OpenROAD 6.2 must be installed.
Note:  For more information about installing OpenROAD 6.2, see the Installation Guide. For more information about hardware and system requirements, see the readme.
