Troubleshooting DataCloud Backup
Error when registering the agent
The Management Server is not running on the host.
The Management Server, which is part of the Ingres installation, must be running before registering the agent. From an Ingres command prompt, type: iimgmtsvr -isremoterunning. If the response is “false,” start the Management Server by typing: iimgmtsvr -start.
Connection to backup service fails when registering the agent
The backup service may be down or there is a problem with your network connectivity. If you can access and log in to the DataCloud Backup Console, the backup service is available. Check your firewall settings.
Error 99 when registering the agent
The backup service may be unreachable due to your network configuration or firewall restrictions. Contact your system or network administrator to ensure that the Ingres host can make outgoing HTTPS connections to the Internet.
The agent installation is corrupted
Download the agent, perform the setup and registration procedure (as described in Setting Up and Registering the Backup Agent), and then start the agent.
Downloaded backup contains partial or empty contents
A checkpoint was created but files were deleted before the agent could transfer the backup to the cloud. The files are lost.
Backup shows a status of Failed or Inconsistent
This can occur for several reasons (for example, interrupted Web connection or a forced stop of the agent process). You cannot use this backup. If this error occurs the next time a backup is uploaded, contact Actian Support.
I tried to start the agent but it’s already running
The start command will tell you that the agent is already running for this Ingres instance and will not start a new agent process. You must stop the running agent using the stop command before you can restart the agent.
