Rules Tab
The Rules tab displays fields and their associated rules in a tree view, with each rule organized under its corresponding field. In this tree view interface, use the right arrow to collapse a branch (close it) and the down arrow to expand a branch (open it).
Note:  See Also Managing Rules and Managing Fields.
The Fields and Rules are organized under the following groups:
MultiFieldRules
Multi-field-rules are rules that can be configured to work with multiple fields. For example:
RemoveDuplicates: This is a multi-field-rule that allows you to remove duplicates across multiple columns with a single rule configuration.
ExecuteExpression: This is a multi-field-rule that enables the use of multiple fields in a script to generate derived fields.
Click the Rule Name to view and edit the rule definition in the right pane (see Rule and Parameter Reference).
NonOutputFields
Non-output-fields are Derived Fields that exist in memory, have rules defined on them, but are not written to the target. Thus by default, the rules created using Derived Fields are listed here (see Add Rules from Derived Fields), unless you write them to the target (see Add Source/Derived Fields to Output).
When you select a field name, it allows you to view the Field Data Discovery on the right pane. You can also edit the field name.
Click the Rule Name to view and edit the rule definition in the right pane (see Rule and Parameter Reference).
OutputFields
Output-fields are fields that are written to the target. Rules defined for a field are listed under the field.
When you select a field name, it allows you to view the Field Data Discovery on the right pane. You can also edit the field name.
Click the Rule Name to view and edit the rule definition in the right pane (see Rule and Parameter Reference).
The toolbar that is displayed on the Rules tab, provides a means of managing rules and fields.
