Create a Location
To create a new location, the Instance Explorer must be connected to the installation in which you want to create the location (see Connect to an Actian Database Instance). You also must have the MAINTAIN_LOCATIONS privilege.
To create a location
1. In the Instance Explorer, right-click the Locations folder for a connected installation and select New Location from the context menu.
The New Location dialog opens (see Location Dialog).
2. Enter a unique name for the Location.
3. Enter a disk and directory location to which the location should be mapped. Click the browse button (…) to navigate to a location.
4. Select which file types the location will be used to store.
5. Click OK.
The new location is listed in the Locations folder.
This alternate location may now be specified when you create a new database—see Locations Page (New Database).
