Location Dialog
The New Location dialog assigns a name to a physical disk and directory location. The General page contains the following fields:
Location Name
Specifies the name to be assigned to the disk and directory combination. Must be a valid object name (see Object Naming Rules).
Location Area
Specifies the disk and directory location to which the location is mapped. Must be a valid operating system specification. You can specify this area using a quoted string or an unquoted string that does not include special (non-alphanumeric) characters.
Limits: Path name must not exceed 126 characters.
Database Usage
Specifies whether the location can store database files
Work Usage
Specifies whether the location can store work files
Journal Usage
Specifies whether the location can store journal files
Checkpoint Usage
Specifies whether the location can store checkpoint files
Dump Usage
Specifies whether the location can store dump files
