Create a Server Connection Definition
You create a Server Connection Definition with the New Server Connection Definition Dialog. You access this dialog by one of the ways explained in Creating Server Connection Definitions.
To create a Server Connection Definition
1. Open the New Server Connection Definition dialog (see New Server Connection Definition Dialog).
2. Enter a name for the Server Connection Definition. This name must be unique and conform to object naming standards (see Object Naming Rules).
3. Enter the name of the user recognized by the installation on the remote node.
4. Enter and confirm the password for the user name.
5. Choose whether the login information should be kept private.
6. Enter the name of the remote network node (the hostname of the machine) to connect to.
7. Select a connection protocol from the drop-down list.
8. Enter the listen address port for the connection.
9. Choose whether the connection information should be kept private.
10. Choose whether you want to test the connection when it is saved.
11. Click OK to create the Server Connection Definition.
Creation progress is displayed in the Progress area of the dialog.
