Delete a View
Before you can delete a database view, the Ingres installation containing the database must be connected in the Instance Explorer (see Connect to an Actian Database Instance).
You delete a view using the Delete View dialog. You can open this dialog the following ways:
From the context menu of a database’s view node: Delete
On the main menu ribbon when a view node is selected in the Instance Explorer: Database, View, Delete View (see Database Tab)
To delete a database view
1. Select the view to delete and open the Delete View dialog in one of the ways explained previously.
2. Select the update policy to use:
Restrict
Aborts the operation if there are any views that depend on the view being deleted
Cascade
Deletes all dependent views
3. Click OK.
The view is deleted from the Views folder in the Instance Explorer.
