Altering Databases
Altering a database sets backup, journaling, and other characteristics for it. You can alter a database to halt journaling for a database. To restart journaling, you must use the Enable Journaling option on the General page of the Backup Database Dialog.
You can also set MVCC (Multiversion Concurrency Control) and Unicode conversion options on the Alter Database Dialog.
For more information about altering databases, see Alter a Database. Also see the ALTERDB command in the Ingres Command Reference Guide. For more information about journaling options, see the Ingres Database Administrator Guide.
Before you can alter a database, the Instance Explorer must be connected to the installation that contains the database (see Connect to an Actian Database Instance).
