Inbox¶
The Inbox is a persistent feed in Explorer that collects two kinds of items:
- Scheduled results: findings your AI Analyst reports after a Scheduled Insight run.
- Sharing notifications: a note that a teammate has shared a conversation or an artifact with you personally.
Availability
- Who can do this: members with the Chat capability in the active Workspace. Members with the Edit capability also see a Studio tab with the Workspace's Steward inbox.
Opening the Inbox¶
Click Inbox in the Explorer sidebar. The page header shows how many items are unread out of the total, for example 2 unread · 5 total.
The Inbox belongs to the active Workspace. If you work in several Workspaces, switch Workspace to see that Workspace's items.
What lands in your Inbox¶

A scheduled insight creates a finding only when its instructions say it should. If a run finds nothing worth reporting, nothing lands in your Inbox. See Scheduled Insights.
You get a sharing notification only when someone adds you under Specific people. Sharing with everyone in the Workspace doesn't create Inbox items. See Sharing.
Reading and acting on items¶
- Items are listed newest first. Unread items have a dot and a tinted background.
- Click Mark read to mark an item as read. The button then shows Read.
- Click Open run or Open conversation to open the linked conversation. Opening an item doesn't mark it as read.
- Turn on Unread only to hide items you've already read.
If you have no items, the Inbox shows Nothing here yet. Items from your AI analysts and system alerts will show up in this list. With Unread only turned on and everything read, it shows Nothing unread. Nicely done.
Explorer and Studio tabs¶
If you have the Edit capability in the Workspace, the Inbox has two tabs:
- Explorer: your own items, as described on this page.
- Studio: the Workspace's open Steward inbox items, such as Suggestion and Alert items about the semantic layer and data sources. See Steward Inbox.
Open Steward items in the Studio tab are archived automatically 14 days after they are created.
Each item also shows a badge for the feed it came from (Explorer or Studio). Members with only the Chat capability see just their own items.
Refresh and limits¶
- The Inbox refreshes automatically every 15 seconds.
- It shows your 50 most recent items. The unread and total counts in the header refer to these items.
- Items in your Explorer feed are not automatically removed.
Email for scheduled results¶
You also get an email for a scheduled result when the schedule's Instructions ask for one (for example Email me). To stop these emails, open your account menu → Notifications and turn off Scheduled insight emails. See Scheduled Insights.
Sharing notifications are never emailed.
